My first documentary is out!
After 3 years of work, we are proud to present the documentary 'About love, Mr. and Mrs. Chan'.
The movie was made in co-operation with Moon Flim, (producer Lucienne Groot) and Nanoloop productions (Bram van der Poel).
In 'About love, Mr. and Mrs. Chan' a young woman who tells the story of her parents, two Chinese immigrants who have been living in The Netherlands for over thirty years now.
This movie is about love and marriage, familiy and friendship. 'About love' has become a very artistic documentary full of emotion.
I photographed young women in Hong Kong, Thailand, Israel, Australia, Turkey and Cuba. I myself am an overseas Chinese but born and raised in The Netherlands. In search of the answer to the question 'Who am I', I photographed young women who had the same questions concerning their identity.
The theme of the search for identity still holds my interest.
Presently, I am doing research on people who are looking for their position in our multi cultural society.
